Viridian Pigment Locket
Viridian Pigment Locket
My handcrafted shaker lockets are filled with fine artist pigments. Each locket measures about 13mm wide and 22mm tall including the bail.
VIRIDIAN is a spring green pigment first prepared in 1838 in Paris by Pannetier but the process was expensive and shrouded in secrecy. Guignet created a cheaper manufacturing method in 1859 that allowed more widespread manufacture and distribution of the pigment. It was used in Claude Monet’s 1877 painting Arrival of the Normandy Train, Gare Saint-Lazare.
Handcrafted to order, please allow up to 8 weeks for your pigment jewelry to be made.
You can add chains or earring findings here if desired. Make sure to get two lockets if you plan to have a pair of earrings made.
Note: I can make these lockets with any material inside. Contact me if you would like a different pigment used. If you have your own object (other than pigment) that you would like put in a locket, please reach out here.
